This page shows you how to change your site so that it says the things you want it to say and has the pictures you’d like your site visitors to see.
Many things that can be done to change this site are not available to you when you’re logged in with this account, and that’s on purpose. This account can change text, pictures, and a few other things, but not which elements appear on a given page. And the elements that appear on the page can’t be deleted from the page.
We’ll talk more about how to make changes that you can’t make from this account a little later on.
Let’s talk about the general process of changing a page.
First, you can’t change the front page of your site yourself. You’ll need to add a request to your queue and we’ll handle it for you. (If, later on, you’re comfortable with all the capabilities of a full Administrator account, it’s your site and you can of course go ahead and do this).
For any other page or post on the site, the process for changing something works like this. First, you’re most likely to be in normal viewing mode when you start. This shows the page exactly as the outside world sees it, except there’s a special black menu bar at the top of the page where, among other things, there’s an “Edit Page” option. In the normal view, you can’t change things on the page, just like anyone else viewing the page wouldn’t be able to.
Because you’re logged in with this account, however, you can click the “Edit Page” option on the top menu bar (this bar is generally called the Admin menu). When you do this, the same page will display, but it will appear inside the WordPress editor.
